A little servicer movement is normal; three transfers in a year is unusual, but it points at the companies involved, not at anything about you. Most loans, somewhere in the range of 70 to 90 percent, are sold shortly after closing to an end investor, and that investor usually keeps the servicing long term. So one transfer soon after closing, or even a second, is common and expected. Three in twelve months usually traces back to a servicer under liquidity pressure or one selling off a block of servicing rights. A business decision on their end, and there's very little you can do about it. Your loan terms don't change with any of this. Rate, balance, and payment stay the same. What to do each time: - Update your autopay so a payment doesn't slip through the cracks during the handoff. - Watch for the required transfer notices that tell you where and when to send the next payment. - Keep records of payments made, and confirm the new servicer credited your balance and escrow correctly. Beyond that, three transfers is mostly an inconvenience rather than a red flag.
