I was paired with a real estate agent through my previous lender who has only seven years of experience -- is there a benefit to finding someone more seasoned?

Seven years is plenty of experience. Judge the agent on how they serve you, not on the number. An agent who has worked that long has seen more than one unusual stretch of market. Whether to switch has almost nothing to do with tenure. We have worked alongside agents at three years who are excellent and agents at twenty who are not. The signals that actually matter: - Negotiating ability - Real knowledge of your specific market - Responsiveness when you have questions - Whether you feel confident and comfortable with them representing you If communication is good, they negotiate well, and they know your market, there is no reason to change. If something feels off, start with a direct conversation, and if things do not improve, find someone else. Interview more than one agent if you are unsure, and pick the person, not the years on the license.
