Writing an offer is core to the job, and a day and a half of silence on a house you want is a long time. We cannot fairly judge another agent's situation from the outside, and there can be legitimate reasons for a delay. But when there is a reasonable offer to write on a house you actually want, with your financing lined up, your agent should be on it quickly. If your agent thinks the offer is unreasonable or that you are overpaying, the right move is to tell you that directly and explain why. Responsiveness and straight talk are two of the clearest signals of an engaged agent. If you are consistently waiting and getting no explanations, that deserves a direct conversation. And if nothing improves after that, reconsidering whether this is the right fit is fair.
